i’ve got a rash.
i feel like i have to whisper those words. no one really wants to know what’s going on. it would sound so much better if i said i have a graze or a bite. but a rash!
and with that I headed off to visit a naturopath. i’ve never been to one before and so googled a bit first so I didn’t look or sound naive. i went to a place called ‘the health shelf’ at nobby beach. i walked in, talked to bernadette and she whipped up a herbal concoction for me. she suggested a number of different herbs, none of which i can remember now.
when I think of herbs I think of green leafy plants. you know, open pastures, fresh fragrances, ‘the hills are alive’ kind of stuff. well, the herbs in this herbal remedy are anything but green and fresh. they are a brown sludgy liquid. sounds appealing, doesn’t it? i ‘just’ have to take five mls three times a day. and also mix it with coconut oil and apply topically a few times a day.
she did warn me that some people think it tastes terrible. and i was like that’s ok, i don’t mind bad tasting stuff.
really? who likes bad tasting stuff? to be honest, it tastes terrible. but a glass of tepid water rinses the taste away, not cold water, as that makes the taste stick to your taste buds, apparently. time will tell if this works.
have you ever been to a naturopath? what was your experience like?
